Horseshoe Theory is completely rejected by some political scientists, but not all. And many view it at least worthy of discussion in certain situations.

I am certainly not a political scientist but was introduced to it decades ago in HS… and remember a brief discussion much later in grad school at the U of Chicago ( again not in a poly science class but labor economics).
