I strongly recommend “maximize my social security” tool. It costs $39 for a one year subscription, but allows you to plot out endless scenarios… and provides detailed analysis and suggested alternate plans.
I originally thought I’d wait just until I was 65… but then saw compelling data to wait until I was 70. And alas, when I added my spouse’s data in, it became clear that our best option was 68.2 with my wife applying for spousal benefits at the same time.
But everyone is different… really worth knowing what is best for you and yours.
