Remember the Star Trek original episode “The City on the Edge of Forever?” Bones accidentally travels back in time and saves a pacifist. She argues for peace and delays the US entry into WWII. Thus allowing the Nazis to win, develop the atom bomb first, and destroy the time line such that the Federation never exists.

So Kirk and Spock have to travel back in time and make sure she dies. The point being, sometimes “peace” just delays catastrophe.

The West (US) must not falter.
