So you ignore equity in your home, but don’t reduce spending for not having a mortgage, ignore a second SS check ( and life insurance covering spousal death), ignore pensions (lots of us do have then)…. then do some nice charts “proving” almost no one can retire without having saved huge dollars.

I saved very little (relatively… had four kids to raise), but retired comfortably at 60.
